First Few Weeks: Post Two

Next up are some photos I took on the way to going to the doctor with Melissa:

Kinkakuji, otherwise known as the Golden Pavilion, is one of the most iconic places to visit in Kyoto. It is also incredibly shiny. I had to shield the lens of the camera so that the picture wouldn't glow too much.

All right, the saga continues later!

First post!

Hey all! Welcome to my photo blog. I will use this to post all the crazy pictures I take while I study abroad in Tokyo.

From the first few days trekking through Tokyo and Kyoto to arrive at our hostel in Gion, some preliminary pictures:

Fushimi Inari Taisha: This shrine traditionally draws in merchants to pray for wealth. Foxes are said to be the messengers of the god Inari, thus the many fox statues around the shrine.

Seimei Jinja: A shrine dedicated to Abe no Seimei, an onmyouji from the Heian Period.

PHEW, that'll be it for part one. I'll post more later.
